SHOUT is all volunteer, and we need a lot of people
pitching in to meet all our needs, especially as SHOUT grows. This
is where we need help the most - if you're interested in helping in
any area, please contact Molly or Sandi. There's a place for everyone!
Care Baskets - We could use some people who would like to put baskets
together for new members, and especially for girls going for their
first surgery.
Encouragement Cards - Do you like to encourage? We just want to send
regular cards of encouragement to our girls in active treatment.
It would be great to also have cards at meetings we can all sign
for those who don't feel well enough to join us.
Event Planner - Molly needs help with the nitty-gritty details that come
with SHOUT events, such as coordinating and picking up food, setting
up a venue, etc.
|
| SHOUT has a hat and scarf exchange. If you're sick and
tired of your current collection, bring in your old headwear and see
what we've got for you to try. For those of you that have finished
treatment and never want to wear a hat again...bring 'em in! |
Have a need, or want to help out? SHOUT
has a community website called Lotsa
Helping Hands. This is our way to coordinate our outreach needs,
such as food delivery for girls who just had surgery, rides to chemo
treatment,
etc. As an added bonus, the site also has blogs and photo albums. To
join the community, just follow
this link, then enter your e-mail
to request to join - please tell us about yourself in the comments. One of our SHOUT coordinators will approve to
get you in.
The site is not just for SHOUT survivors, we encourage anyone who
wants to volunteer to register. You can view a calendar
of our needs, and sign up to help out! There's also a special section
to encourage those you care about. |
| Send us your ideas for other ways to help. We are looking
for motivated volunteers who would like to help out as we grow. Let
us know if you are interested. |
